UXLx 2024 is happening from 21 to 24 May 2024, but if you’re planning to come to Lisbon a few days before, or leaving a couple of days later, you might find it interesting to know what’s happening in the city when you’re around.

Live Fado Music at Amália Rodrigues house

Amália Rodrigues (1920–1999) is possibly the most famous Portuguese Fado singer of all time. The house where she lived for more than 40 years, right in the heart of Lisbon, is now a museum and the place for exclusive live concerts. In the garden, a fado singer accompanied by Portuguese guitar and viola players perform some the most memorable songs of the artist.

Feira da Ladra (Lisbon Flea Market)

Located in a historical and charming set, Feira da Ladra happens every Tuesday and Saturday, from 9:00 to 18:00. You’ll find real treasures that go from second-hand objects, antiques, crafts, collectables and vintage items. Dating back to the XIII century, the market has moved between several other locations, but since 1903 is settled in Campo de Santa Clara. And who knows? You might find the best souvenir from your stay in Lisbon here.

Nearby you can also visit the National Pantheon and the Monastery of São Vicente de Fora.

Lisbon Under Stars — Immersive Spectacle

An immersive 45-minute show taking places in the Ruins of the Carmo Convent that will take you on a trip back in time through more than 600 years of Lisbon and Portugal’s history. It features multimedia projections, virtual dancers and visual effects to the sound of great Portuguese musicians.

Bansky Museum

The temporary (and unofficial) exhibition “The World of Bansky” has now become a museu holding more than 100 artworks reproductions of one of the most famous street artists in the world. You’ll find some of the most remarkable pieces like “Girl and Balloon”, “Rat with 3D glasses” and “Sweep It Under The Carpet”.
